Playing Time Policy

Playing time policies by age group align with each program's objectives.

Mini Soccer Age Group includes: Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grades 1 & 2

U10 Age Group includes: Grades 3 & 4

U12 Age Group includes: Grades 5 & 6

U14 Age Group includes: Grades 7 & 8

Mini Soccer & U10:

Best effort shall be made by coaches so that each player shall play a minimum of 50% of the total playing time. 

U12-U14 Dave Coutts Cup (DCC) Coastal Teams Only:

The head coach will make every reasonable effort to provide fair playing time for all players. The head coach is required to play every player in every game regular season and/or playoffs.

U12-U14 MTOC D1 & D2 Coastal Teams Only:

Playing time is based on the discretion of the head coach.

General Statement

These policies are meant to instill a competitive spirit in our players with the intention of (1) developing strong, team-oriented, and well-balanced players, (2) developing teams with depth, and (3) competing at the highest level possible in state competition.

Playing time policies apply only to players who:

• Arrive to practice and games promptly at the time directed by the Coach
• Are committed to the team (this means attending practices regularly and making games a priority)
• Bring a positive attitude to all practices and games
• Are engaged and attentive during all practice and games
• Behave respectfully at and with all teammates, coaches, opposing players, and officials at practices and games
